Who we are

This website is run by Wafa Signs Ireland, a family signage business run by Roeen Wafa and Shahab Wafa, based in Ballinora, Co. Cork, T12 AET9. Phone 085 860 0150, email info@wafasigns.ie. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect

When you use the quote form we collect what you choose to send: your name and phone number, and if you add them, your email address, town, the type of sign, a message and a photo of the building. We also record that you ticked the consent box, the version of its wording and the time you sent the form.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the details you give us so we can deal with your enquiry.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of the request) to keep the site secure and working.

Why we use it and our legal basis

To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out the job. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and then performing that contract.
To keep records for accounting and tax. The legal basis is our legal obligation.
To keep the website secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

We do not sell your data, use it for profiling, or add you to a marketing list.

Who we share it with

Form submissions are stored by our website host and form provider, Netlify, Inc. Emails go through our email provider, and WhatsApp messages through WhatsApp (Meta). Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, they rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Cookies and third parties

This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies when you view it. Fonts are served from our own site. See our cookie policy.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become a job are deleted within 24 months. Records of jobs we carry out are kept for 6 years after the job for tax and legal reasons.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Contact us using the details above and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
